Tania Poggione is an independent art appraiser and advisor specializing in Canadian and international fine art from the late 19th to 21st centuries. With over two decades of experience at the forefront of the Canadian art market and auction industry, she offers seasoned expertise in appraisal, advisory, brokerage, and collection management for private, corporate, and institutional clients.

 

Her recognized connoisseurship and comprehensive market knowledge define her trusted, discerning approach to art appraisal and advisory. Appraisal services are available for a wide range of purposes, including insurance, donation, CCPERB applications, estate and tax planning, family division, wealth management, deaccessioning, acquisitions, and sales.

 

A member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) since 2018, Tania adheres to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), ensuring services of the highest professional standard.

 

From 2005 to 2024, she led Heffel’s Montreal branch as Director and Senior Fine Art Specialist, contributing to the company’s establishment as Canada’s premier auction house and its growth in the global market. Renowned for her distinguished client service and expertise, she managed the consignment, appraisal, and sale of high-value Canadian and international artworks across multiple mediums, encompassing the full sales and valuation process.

 

In 2024, she joined the Board of Trustees of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Foundation, supporting the institution’s cultural and social mission.

 

Tania holds a Bachelor’s degree in Greco-Roman Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Concordia University. Based in Montreal and Ottawa, she is fully trilingual in French, English, and Italian, offering services in both official languages, and maintains an extensive network of national and international contacts.
