Nicole Plaskett holds a Master’s degree in History from the University of Toronto. She has experience with the UK art market, working with high-profile clientele with a focus on Old Master and British portrait paintings. Nicole has participated in bidding & purchasing with international auction houses, as well as working closely with a fine art restorer.
In Toronto, Nicole worked as an assistant in a fine art gallery specialising in 19th and 20th century Canadian and International artists. After two years, she was then recruited to manage the Art Dealers Association of Canada. Within this role, Nicole formed relationships with gallery owners across Canada and became familiar with the Canadian fine art market.
Following more than fifteen years of experience within the visual arts and Canadian cultural heritage sector, Nicole is thrilled to have spent the last two years working at one of the leading auction houses in Canada.
Cowley Abbott provides Appraisals and Valuations to private collectors, Family Office, advisors and corporations. They create formal appraisals for Insurance, Tax Estate Planning, Donation and Family Division. They work closely with collectors and advisors who are actively building collections as well as with beneficiaries and fiduciaries of Estates. Their team of fine art specialists and appraisers have decades of relevant art market experience. Each member of the Appraisals & Valuation Department has completed the International Society of Appraisers Core Course ISA training.
