Tracey Capes Fine Art
Tracey Capes is an Accredited Appraiser performing appraisals mostly on North American art. While the many of her appraisals are prepared for paintings and sculpture, Tracey has added expertise in photography, printmaking, philately, and illustration.
Her experience includes appraisal reports for certified cultural property donations, regular donations, disposition, insurance, estate, sales, research, collections maintenance, and policy writing.
Providing advisory services to government, corporate, business, and private collections Tracey has worked as an independent art advisor and appraiser for over 25 years. Some clients include: Art Gallery of Ontario, British Airways, BMO Financial Group, Capital One Bank, the Department of Foreign Affairs – Government of Canada, Rogers Communications Inc., and the Ryerson Image Centre.
Earlier in her career Tracey was the Executive Director of the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, North America’s largest annual outdoor festival of original art. She also worked with the Open Studio where she maintained the archives and marketing their vast collection of original prints.
A graduate of the University of Toronto Tracey completed majors in both Fine Art History and Fine Art Studio. She has been a member of ISA since 2012, and her credentials as an appraiser are in compliance with the requalification requirements of the International Society of Appraisers and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice 2020-2021.
