Jo-Ann Kane is a member of the ISA since 2016. She evaluates, builds and manages collections for an international mix of corporate collections, individuals, estates and foundations. Her full service advisory business provides curatorial and market advice, as well as museum-quality fine art services for collectors, attorneys, financial advisors and estates.

Her academic training includes a Master’s degree in Museology and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She has been the curator of the National Bank of Canada’s Collection since 2002 and continues to serve as such on a contractual basis. She is also the President of the Association of Corporate Collections for Québec, an organization that brings together curators and owners of corporate collections in an effort to maximize their visibility and promote art to the business community

After 12 years as the Head Curator for National Bank of Canada, she established Jo-Ann Kane Art Advisory based in Montreal. In addition to advising clients on acquisitions and sales of works of art for their collections, her practice includes fine art collection management, estate planning and execution, strategic planning and feasibility studies for museums, exhibition planning and administration, and fine art appraisal services.

From 1997 to 2000, she served as curator of Hydro-Québec’s art collection. In her capacity as a consultant and invited curator, Jo-Ann Kane carried out several important projects.

In 2010, she was appointed Faculty of Arts ambassador for her alma matter, UQÀM. In 2013, she was appointed to the Quebec government’s working group on philanthropy in arts and culture. She is also a board member of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, member of the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec’s acquisition committee and a member of the Bureau d’art public de Montréal.
